Sunfall app icon, a sun setting over a horizon

Sunfall

Golden hour, sun and moon. For iPhone.

Sunfall tells you when the good light happens where you are, where on the horizon it will come from, and what the moon is doing once the sun has gone.

What it does

It works with no signal

Every time in Sunfall is computed on your device from the NOAA solar position algorithm and the standard lunar theory. There is no Sunfall server and no account. Searching for a place by name uses Apple's geocoding service; everything else, including every calculation, works with no connection at all.

The solar engine was validated against an independent reference across ten cities from the equator to Anchorage, and the lunar engine against JPL ephemerides to better than a fiftieth of a degree. Sunfall correctly reports when the sun never rises at all.
